Our Pastors and Staff

Jason Kuniholm - Interim Lead Pastor

Jason Kuniholm

Welcome to the Lindale Mennonite Church website. I encourage you to look around our site. You will quickly discover our commitment to living as followers of Jesus with joy and an openness to learning.

I serve as the Interim pastor at Lindale. I’m new to the church, like you may be. If you visit, I look forward to meeting you. I believe following Jesus is a journey of discovering the freedom God desires us to experience as people committed to following Jesus. Being together as a community is a way that happens.

There is a wonderful staff at Lindale Mennonite Church trained and available to help you grow in your faith journey, no matter where you start, where you’ve been or what questions you may have. We value our children and offer safe and compassionate care to all who we serve.

I have served as pastor and overseer of churches in suburban Philadelphia, PA and Lancaster, PA. I really enjoy helping people discover God in the midst of daily life. It has been so meaningful to experience life in the Shenandoah Valley and in the Lindale congregation.

If you have felt a drawing to church, that may be God at work in your life. Thanks again for visiting the Lindale Mennonite Church website. I would enjoy meeting you if you decide to attend on a Sunday morning.

Dawn Monger - Pastor of Congregational Life

Dawn Monger

Dawn has been on the pastoral staff at Lindale since 2011. She first came to the Valley in 1978 after marrying her husband, Jim, who is a Harrisonburg native. They have two sons and daughters-in-law, four grandchildren and currently live in the peaceful countryside of Singers Glen. Dawn is a 2010 graduate of Eastern Mennonite Seminary and was formerly pastor to young adults in another Mennonite congregation.

At Lindale, Dawn enjoys greeting people in the foyer on Sunday mornings, getting to know new attenders and guests, leading women’s Bible studies, facilitating discussion in a young adult Sunday School class, visiting, preaching on occasion, providing pastoral care and various other aspects of congregational life. It is especially meaningful for her to be part of a strong, caring, pastoral team. Additionally, she is involved with the Spiritual Formation class at EMU.

In her spare time, Dawn loves to read, spend time with family and friends, and travel.

Deb Horst - Pastor of Christian Formation and Youth

Deb Horst

Deb and her husband Bob moved to the Valley in August 2013 from Dalton, OH. They were married in 1982 at Martins Mennonite Church where they were both members.

Deb’s first career was as an LPN and then as a homemaker. During those years she became more involved in church activities and was affirmed for her teaching and leadership gifts. Bob and Deb served as MYF sponsors and church treasurers, and Deb served as an elder and enjoyed involvement in music, visual arts, and as worship leader. After being affirmed by her congregation for her pastoral gifts, God led her to Camp Luz where she served as Program Director and then Executive Director from 2000-2011. Deb completed her Master of Divinity degree through Ashland Seminary in Ashland, OH in 2010.

Deb completed her time at camp in 2011 and then worked part-time as a Hospice Chaplain and part-time as an interim pastor at Beaverdam Mennonite Church in Corry, PA. In the summer of 2013 Lindale Mennonite Church extended an invitation to her to serve as Associate Pastor of Christian Formation and Youth. Deb is thankful to be serving God and His people at Lindale!
